Otions is an ambitious sculpture project, utilizing unused, run-down and abandoned buildings across the South Island of Aotearoa. Each of the 12 sites chosen will become the material into which subtle water motifs will be carved. An old workshop floor may bear an expanding ripple, a kitchen floor small waves as if from a passing breeze.

Water is central to Otions as it is capable of both force and stillness, echoing the life that has passed through the structures. Otions is intended to create a sense of narrative, giving life back to structures which had been left fallow, to create a quiet though expansive artistic presence throughout the island.
